Ingredients

Om Gold Rice Bran Oil
Essential Ingredients
  • Rice flour – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1.5 cups
  • Water – ½ cup
  • Black cardamom powder – ½ teaspoon (for aroma)
  • Oil or ghee – For deep frying

How to Make
It Perfectly

  1. Make the Batter
    • Take rice flour in a bowl and add little water at a time.
    • Mix well until you get a smooth, thin batter—like dosa batter.
  2. Prepare the Sugar Syrup
    • In a pan, heat sugar and water together.
    • Stir occasionally and let it boil until it becomes slightly sticky (1-string consistency).
    • Add black cardamom powder for extra flavor.
  3. Fry the Thin Strands
    • Heat oil in a deep pan.
    • Take a spoon with small holes (or a sieve).
    • Pour some batter over the spoon, tapping gently so that thin strands of batter fall into the hot oil.
    • Fry until golden and crispy, then remove.
  4. Coat with Sugar
    • Immediately dip the fried strands in warm sugar syrup for just a few seconds.
    • Take them out and let them cool—it will become crispier as it rests.

And that’s it! Sarsatia is ready—crispy, slightly sweet, and full of traditional flavors.
