Ingredients

Om Gold Rice Bran Oil
Essential Ingredients
  • 2 large onions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)
  • 2 tbsp rice flour (for crispiness)
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 green chilies (chopped)
  • Water (as needed)
  • Oil (for frying)

How to Make
It Perfectly

  1. Prepare the Batter:
Start by slicing two large onions thinly. The thinner, the better—they'll get crispier when fried!
  2. Mix the Ingredients:
In a bowl, combine the onions with besan, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, and chopped green chilies.
  3. Rest the Batter:
Add a little water and mix well. The batter should be thick, not watery. Let it sit for 10 minutes—this helps the onions release some moisture, making the fritters even tastier!
  4. Time to Fry:
Heat oil in a deep pan. Take small portions of the batter and drop them into the hot oil.
  5. Crisp Them Up!
Fry on medium heat until golden brown and crispy. Take them out and drain on paper towels.
  6. Enjoy!
Serve with ketchup or a spicy green chutney.
