Ingredients

Essential Ingredients
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • ¼ cup semolina (sooji)
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ tsp fennel seeds
  • Oil or ghee (for frying)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup water

How to Make
It Perfectly

  1. Making the Batter:
    In a bowl, mix 1 cup wheat flour, ¼ cup semolina (sooji), 1 cup milk, and ½ tsp fennel seeds.
    Let the batter rest for 30 minutes to absorb flavors.
  2. Frying the Malpuas:
    Heat oil or ghee in a pan.
    Pour a ladle of batter into hot oil and fry on medium heat until golden brown.
  3. Preparing the Sugar Syrup:
    Boil 1 cup sugar with ½ cup water until slightly sticky.
  4. Soaking & Serving:
    Dip the fried malpuas in warm sugar syrup for 2 minutes,
    then serve hot!

Pro Tip: Add mashed banana to the batter for a softer texture!
