Ingredients

Om Gold Rice Bran Oil
Essential Ingredients
  • Rice – 1 cup
  • Urad dal (Black gram dal) – ½ cup
  • Ginger – 1-inch piece (grated)
  • Green chilies – 2 (chopped)
  • Curry leaves – A few (chopped)
  • Salt – To taste
  • Baking soda – A pinch (optional)
  • Oil – For frying

How to Make
It Perfectly

  1. Soak and Grind
    • Wash and soak rice and urad dal in water for at least 6 hours or overnight.
    • Grind them together with ginger and a little water to make a thick batter.
  2. Add Flavors
    • Mix chopped green chilies, curry leaves, and salt into the batter.
    • Let it rest for 15-20 minutes before frying.
  3. Fry Until Golden
    • Heat oil in a deep pan.
    • Drop small spoonfuls of batter into the oil.
    • Fry on medium heat until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Serve & Enjoy
    • Chaul Bara tastes best hot and crispy, served with ghuguni (spiced yellow pea curry) or green chutney.
